By Tenisha Mercer

Found these on Coloures.com and I can't get enough of these designs. Bold and elegant.

They're from a Zimbabwean businesswoman turned designer, Ramina Mohamed, now living in London. She sums up the jetset lifestyle with the designs from her debut collection, Fly/High.

Derek Lam For Kohl's

By Tenisha Mercer

Derek Lam or Kohl's
He's a designer who has dressed the likes of First Lady Michelle Obama. Now his couture fashions are coming straight to a Kohl's near you.

Lam is the second designer to join Koh's DesignNation collaboration. He joins a growing number of upscale designers with fashions in major department stores, including Missoni and Jason Wu for Target, as designers whose luxury clothing ranges in the thousands bring their upscale fashions to a broader audience at lower prices.

Grammy Awards: Hits or Misses?

Whitney Houston's death cast a sad, eery pall on the 54th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, but celebrities still honored the pop princess during countless tributes.

There were some high notes and low notes in fashion.

Love the hair as always, Corinne, but not a fan of the dress. Love the shoes, tho.

Ledisi looks amazing in this strapless gown. Her locs, as always, are on point in this beautiful updo.

Esperenza Spalding rocks a subdued fro.

Amber Rose looks lovely in this yellow gown. Not gonna say anything about Wiz.

Fashion Week Brings Out the Stars

I'll go ahead and say it: There's nothing quite like a lady in a tux.

A bad ass, shut yo' mouth type of tux: one that fits elegantly, yet with a contemporary flair. And I don't mean a man's tux, but one that is made for women and expertly compliments our curves.

Two fashionistas sported them at Fashion Week -- Angela Simmons and Janelle Monae. I loved both looks. Both were black and white and both were on point.

Angela Simmons rocked it in a white suit by SuperTrash. I like her unusual pairing of the leather halter -- unusual, but it SO works -- and the statement necklace.

Janelle Monae sports a tux jacket and what appears to be a black jumpsuit underneath. No matter, I love it.

What do you think about women's tuxes?

Come On Girl, Let's Move Sumthin'!

Never did I think I'd see the day where Move Sumthin' dresses and skirts -- as we called those brightly colored, saran wrap style, big as a Band Aid, cling to your body style clothing made popular in the early 1990s -- would ever see the light of day again.

Somewhere, deep down, I hoped those things would die, die, and never come back!

Lawd knows I wore a move sumthin' dress -- or two back then! Flat stomach and young, perky boobs! But after one too many spottings of "move sumthin" dresses and skirts at Forever 21 and H&M in recent months and finally, at Target over the weekend, I'm sad to say that, yes, they are back in style.

What's old is, indeed, new again.

Target -- that uber fashionable harbinger of style -- is what put me over the edge. When they something is hot? Clutch the pearls! It usually is. All of this makes me feel, really kinda old. I have no idea what they are calling them now. Maybe bandeau dresses?  Don't know and don't care. They will forever be known as move sumthin' dresses in my vocab.

Two Live Crew probably sang it best! WARNING: EXPLICIT LYRICS

Couldn't pay me to wear one now. Might wear it with a jacket -- and that's a strooooong maybe. Three kids later, stomach nowhere near as flat and boobs definitely ain't perky. When I wear fitted stuff now, it can't be skin tight, know what I mean? I'll rock a mean maxi tank dress, but that's about it.

I'll just leave that clingy, skin-tight stuff to the young 20-year-olds.

Would you ever rock a move sumthin' dress?  Do you think it's  a good retro trend?

On Trend: Bright Suits

In a fashion move that's eerily reminiscent of the bright color trend circa 1990s, bright colored suits are back again.

Umm... been there, done that. Tracy Ellis Ross rocks it here in this modified silk-like suit. This is doable, and it's something I'd wear, though perhaps a nude or leopard shoe or bag. Too much red for me.

Neon colors? Hell, no!

Why I Hate Black, Blue and Gray Suits
Not a big fan of black suits, gray and navy suits. They're so, so blah. I know they may be requirements in certain industries, but those colors are so devoid of color and leave me feeling so lifeless.

I need color in my life. When I do wear a suit -- I'm more of a dress girl -- I have to either wear a bright top, accessories or something that make me feel like I'm not going to a funeral.

Would you wear a bright color suit? Or is just too much?
