Is this Kerry Washington?

Really, this has got to be some sort of sick joke.

Kerry Washington is on the March cover of In Style, but you'd barely know it from the photo. Looks nothing like her, and it appears the magazine may have Photoshopped the photo of the actress to make her appear lighter and nearly unrecognizable.

Really? Washington was on the cover of Lucky in 2013 and ditto -- instantly unreognizable, and the worse thing about it was that her skin looked pink. WTH? Now, In Style has her in a white off the shoulder dress and she's looking a lot like CNN correspondent Soledad O'Brien.


The photo gathered lots of controversy on social media on Thursday, and InStyle issued a statement: 

"While we did not digitally lighten Kerry's skin tone, our cover lighting has likely contributed to this concern. We understand that this has resulted in disappointment and hurt. We are listening, and the feedback has been valuable. We are committed to ensuring that this experience has a positive influence on the ways in which we present all women going forward," the magazine said, according to the Associated Press.

Washington, who was reportedly "thrilled" with the cover photo, responded:

She's a top-rated actress on a #1 program. At least they can get her to look right on the cover of a magazine.

Scandal returns TONIGHT!

Come 9 p.m. EST tonight, nobody had better think about talking, texting or emailing me. Matter fact, don't even move. 

Because tonight's the night when 'Scandal' returns. My snacks -- and wine -- will be on deck.

You don't know how much I have longed to see Olivia's antics; Thursday nights just aren't the same. I don't even have time to look at a lot of TV during the week, but Scandal is my can't miss show.

Will she ever cut if off with the president? (Nope).

What about poor Jake? Boy, bye! She likes you and Fitz!

And Daddy Pope? Evil.

Of course I'll be tuned in to see what Olivia, played by actress Kerry Washington, is wearing.

So much Shonda Rhimes' stuff going on right now, especially with season 4. So many plot lines, and seeing where they'll unfold this season. But I'm just happy it's back. No, I'm ecstatic. Would have loved a two-hour premiere, but I'll take what I can get.

The show's been moved up an hour (glad I noticed that), to make way for Rhimes' new series, 'How to Get Away with Murder,' featuring Viola Davis, at 10 p.m. on ABC.

I'll be tuned into that, too.

Dress like Scandal's Olivia Pope

Not only do I tune in for the suspense, I also want to peep what Olivia is wearing. If you've ever

The line is designed in part by none other than Washington, herself, and is priced from $49-$250.

It's a whole new take on power dressing, and in a fashion world that has seen casual chic take precedence in many boardrooms and offices in recent years. Olivia single-handedly brought back the grown ass woman in a suit.



I think what I like best about the line is the pricepoint. I probably wouldn't shell out for the haute couture fashions Pope wears on the show, but this is feasible for the budget conscious. I'm loving the
wrapped coats, the suits and the contemporary dresses.

Can't you just see  Liv wearing this??? Scandal kicks off a new season Sept. 25.

Kerry Washington on Lucky Magazine Cover -- FAIL!

Y'all know I rep #TeamOlivia, err, Kerry Washington. I'm a Gladiator!

I'm glued to the tube, watching Scandal at 10 p.m. on Thursday nights. And I love Washington's classic, feminine yet sexy red carpet ready, always on the money, effortless --  though not styled to death -- looks.

Usually, she gets it right. Every magazine cover or red carpet photo I've seen of her is absolutely flawless. So much so that People Magazine named the 36-year old Emmy-nominated actress the world's "Best-Dressed Woman" in 2013.

So imagine my surprise when I saw Washington on the cover of Lucky Magazine looking a hot, scary mess!

Scandal Fever

ABC's Scandal is must-see TV, and it didn't disappoint. #TeamGladiators

Show creator Shonda Rhimes is a BEAST -- excellent writing, characters and plots. She put her entire foot into the finale last night. I was on the edge of my seat with my eyes covered, afraid to look. Now, while everyone was trying to figure out the mole angle, we were all left with our mouths open at the surprise ending.

Where do I start?

David  -- We knew David Rosen did some dirt, but for him to get a U.S. Attorney General's gig out of the deal? What the WHAT? And his deal was nothing short of blackmail. Brillliance at its best.

Billy -- And Billy Chambers? Were it not for Rosen giving him a fake cytron card, he would have had everything.

Amanda -- She really enjoyed that drill, didn't she?

Cyrus - I don't know which Cyrus to believe. Is he really trying to save the presidency or does he have his own selfish motives? The lines are starting to blur.

Liv -- OMG! Loved her plan with Fitz. Sounded good, too bad it didnt work. ,She's a great strategist. The ending, tho? And DAD? Now, no one -- and I mean, no one-- saw that one coming! No one. Adds a whole new wrinkle to the story. What dad puts the order in to kill their daughter?

Huck -- The hitman lost his balls. He couldn't kill Billy Chambers. One too many kills, I guess.

Fitz - Now, he sucks major behind for wanting to be with Liv and then caving in at the last minute. We all knew he was going back to Millie all along, even though Liv's plan could have worked. Fitz is so wishy washy it kills me. Either love Olivia or be down with Millie.
