Academy Award-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o named "Most Beautiful Woman" by PEOPLE

Add another award to Lupita Nyong'o's long list of honors: She's been named the World's Most Beautiful Woman by PEOPLE Magazine.
Quite an honor for the 12 Years A Slave actress. Nyong'o, 31, grew up thinking that "light skin and flowing, straight hair" made women desirable, but it was her mother who "always said I was beautiful. And I finally believed her at some point."
This is clearly Lupita's year -- and it's so well deserved.
The Oscar winner is now the new face for Lancôme Paris and is honored because "all the girls who would see me … and feel a little more seen."

MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet Fashions: Lupita Nyong'o, Rihanna and Nicki Minaj

The MTV Movie Awards in LA on Sunday had some fashion hits ...and misses.
Academy Award wining actress Lupita Nyong'o showed up in a beautiful tribal inspired outfit (12 Years A Slave won Movie of the Year). Rihanna on the other hand, showed up looking like she was ready for a sexy evening in boudoir fashions. Appropriate for the bedroom, but on the red carpet?
Two very different looks. Which one do you like more?
Here's an upclose look at what Lupita wore. I love her hair -- is that a kiny hair piece? And the shoes be killin' `em.
And Nicki Minaj wore a simple, understated black dress with gold accessories, as well as much simpler sideswept hair with ombre highlights. I really like the look on Nicki.

Actress Lupita Nyong'o attacked by skin cream bleaching maker

It's really not a light skin vs. dark skin argument: Saying that actress Lupita Nyong'o is beautiful doesn't take away from anyone else's beauty --- no matter what end of the color spectrum you fall under.
But all the talk about Lupita's beautiful complexion and rich, dark skin tone has apparently drawn the ire of Cameroonian-Nigerian pop star Dencia, maker of the skin whitening cream Whitenicious.
Dencia attacked the Academy Award winner on Twitter recently after the 12 Years a Slave told the audience at the Essence Women of Hollywood luncheon that she persuaded a fan not to purchase a Dencia's skin whitening products, and urged her to embrace her Black beauty.

She was the unknown actor, who delivered a memorable, blockbuster performance as Patsey the slave in Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave. And now actress Lupita Nyong'o, who has wowed everyone on the red carpet with her bold, daring and colorful style, can now add yet another impressive award to her collection -- Academy Award Winner.
Just like that, Nyong'o made history Sunday night when she won an Oscar for Best Performance by an
Actress in a Supporting Role -- rare for a first-time actor. And for a role that was tough, emotional

A very pregnant Kerry Washington bared her baby bump in a crop top and Lupita Nyong'o killed the red carpet yet again in a lovely fitted turqoise gown -- really, does this woman ever have a bad fashion day? -- at the SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday.
The Scandal actress took a bold fashion move, wearing a pink crop top by Prada -- leaving a peak of her pregnant belly showing -- and a full satin black skirt. Who says a pregnant woman isn't sexy? I'm so glad that maternity fashions have changed for the better since I last wore them 13, 14 and 16 years ago. They've come a long way! Some loved Kerry Washington's bare midriff while others hate it for its proportions of the full skirt. I loved IT!

Lupita Nyong'o can do no wrong on the red carpet and is not only the 'it' girl in Hollywood but is emerging as a style icon and red carpet star as well. The 12 Years a Slave actress loves playing up her beautiful ebony skin with bright colors such as yellows, pinks and reds. This time, she wore a teal green Gucci gown with makeup that popped.
Once again, Lupita slayed the red carpet with her confident, self assured and stunning style. Lupita got yet another award, this time for Best Supporting Actress, beating out Jennifer Lawrence from "American Hustle". Can you say OSCAR?
