NYC Fashion Week 2013 Week Wrap Up

Fashion Week went out with a bang in NYC on Thursday, and Detroit-born fashion designer Tracy Reese did not disappoint. Reese, who has received lots of accolades after designing the dress that First Lady Michelle Obama wore during the Democratic National Convention over the summer, unveiled a collection of glittery separates with bold prints, animal prints and bright colors such as hot pink.

With stars such as Angela Bassett and Angela Simmons on the front row, this is what Reese revealed:

NYC is covered in blizzard snow, but that won't stop fashionistas from trekking through inches-high snow, teetering in sky high heels and haute couture designer duds, to New York Fashion Week.

I can't wait to see the pics of all the NYCers in their designer wares, and the fall 2013 runway fashions from designers such as Tracey Reese.

Designers Show Off Wares At NYFW

Y'all know I have hometown love for designer Tracy Reese. We're both from Detroit, and umm., yeah, I love her work. Check out Reese and other designers shown during Fashion Week.


I'm a color lovin' fool. Love this bright yellow wool trench coat contrasted with teal shoes and the fur color. It's a winter/early spring combo bursting with color.

There is a big difference between being simple and plain. You nail simple, with a minimalist approach. Plain, well, you look homely. This look, HairNistas, is so simple that it's stunning. There's something about a boss chick outfit. You bad and you know it! This outfit by Jason Wu goes there, with a military vest with feathers, leather and lace collar and shoulders. Wu is doing his thang with Target with a bit more subdued fashions. Love this daring men's wear meets women's wear look.

Designer Tracy Reese Expands Her Labels

Good news for fashion designer Tracy Reese!

Just shy of a month before Fashion Week, WWD reports that Reese will expand her clothing labels, Tracy Reese and Plenty and Frock! Those brands will be rebranded under the name T.R. Designs, with CEO Karen Castellano at the helm. Reese's website will also be revamped to become more interactive.

Reese is a Detroit homegirl, so you just know I had to report this.
