There are many naturals whose hair I admire.

Usually, it's of the fluffy, thick variety, with banging and defined twisouts/braidouts/fros.

Many times, I love their hair because it's a look that my hair hasn't quite been able to accomplish yet; I'm just really getting the hang of flat twists, or their hair is longer than mine or lusher (is that a word, lol)?

I call them hair idols. Yeah, I know my curls are unique and I won't ever rock their curls, but dammit, I sometimes want their hair, if only for a day.

A Fro Kind of Way

I'm very impulsive when it comes to my hair. Today, I'm in a fro kind of mood. Who knows what mood I'll be in tomorrow? But, today I lightly blowdried my strands (heat protectant, of course) to flat iron.

I didn't feel like doing it.

So I just let it ... be. I fluffed it, and that's it. That's one of the best things about natural hair: I can be funky and spontaneous one day or just let my hair do what it do the next. One day I may feel like wearing it curly. The next day, straight. Wavy in a twist out or fierce, funky updo.

What kind of hair mood are you in today?
