The weather in Atlanta is so crazy right now that I can't WAIT for spring.

What to Wear for Spring 2014: 3 trends

After a rough winter that I'd like to forget, it's finally SPRING! WOOT!
Which means that spring fashions are just around the corner. Here's what I'll be rocking this spring.
Moto jacket: This is a carryover from fall trends, but it's uber hot for spring, too. Pick a moto jacket that's in a fun spring color, like white, to pair with bright colored crop jeans.
Pleats: Pleats are huge. Not those old fashioned pleats, but modernized, softer pleats that don't add so much to the hips. Think lightly pleated skirts and dresses, like the one below.
Crop top: Not since the 80s have crop tops been so fashionable. It's a trend that most women can wear and that can be age appropriate in many cases IF you pare a crop top (no, not the teeny eeny ones) with a high-waisted skirt or pants so that only a sliver of skin is showing. Trendy, sexy AND age appropriate but ONLY if your stomach doesn't hang inches over your pants. You've been warned!

What to Wear for Spring 2013: How to Wear Mixed Prints

Mixed prints are all the rage on the runway for spring -- but wearing them in "real life" can be a totally different story. Now, while First Lady Michelle Obama and Beyonce have rocked mixed prints, YOU actually doing it -- without the help of a stylist at your beck and call or a million dollar wardrobe -- can be a HOT MESS if you aren't careful.
Things can go wrong real quick, especially if the color, patterns and prints aren't just right, as this article in Clutch pointed out. So instead of being trendy and just plain wrong, here are a few tips to keep in mind if you want to wear mixed prints in your wardrobe this spring:
1. Pair large prints with small prints. It's all about proportion and symmetry. It's a great form of contrast.
2. Use different prints in same color pattern. This is where mixed prints goes all wrong, when you pair prints in colors that are widely different. Just don't. This is one area where you want to play it safe. So, only use colors that are the same or at least, contrasting. For example, pair mixed prints in the same colors -- red, white, blue. Otherwise, you'll end up looking like the "crazy" lady in prints.
3. Stripes are neutral. A quick and easy way to put this trend in your wardrobe immediately is to make stripes a neutral pattern that you could pair with just about anything, as long as it's in the same color scheme. So, using tip #2 above, you could pair a striped shirt with a floral print (same color hue, of course) bottom. Stripes tone things down just a bit, and can be paired with plaids, bold prints, geometric and animal prints.

I'm sooooo ready for spring. It can't get hot enough, quick enough. Already, I'm thinking about what I''ll be wearing this summer and who can blame me --- spring fashions began hitting the stores as soon as the Christmas decorations were put away.
This year, think pastels. I know, I know. Pastels don't always look good on all of our rich complexions. But that doesn't mean you can't add pieces here and there. Pastels are particularly hot, as evidenced by the Academy Awards' red carpet.
Go chevron. Chevron is the geometric print of the season. From cute shift dresses to flowy tops to scarves, get ready to see lots and lots of this cute, geometrical print in all types of colors.
