On the verge of facing several years in prison for nearly $1 million in unpaid taxes to the IRS, Hill's attorney announced the singer has signed a $1 million record deal with Sony, TMZ reported.
Hill plans to borrow $650,000 to pay off her taxes -- a move that may very well keep her out of jail. Hill pleaded guilty to tax evasion in 2012.
Tax issues aside, is THIS what we had to do to get Hill to record another album? Who could forget her classic 1998 Grammy-award winning album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and all those Fugee hits?
Hill has reportedly struggled with mental health issues in recent years. I know I have missed her music and wish her nothing but the best.
I look forward to the new music.
