Black Girls Rock

Black girls showed up -- and out -- at the 2013 Black Girls Rock, co-hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King.

Ross wore her fab natural curls and other naturals represented.

But what's most important was the message of black women solidarity and the powerful, positive image of black women coming together to celebrate individual and collective accomplishments -- no drama, no beefs, none of the separation shown all too often in the media. Just love, encouragement and support, from one Black woman to another.

"To see all these incredible Black girls who rock in the room, in their own ways and the fact that younger generations get to see how they rock their own style, their beliefs and the things that they're doing in their community…I think it's necessary," said Kelly Rowland, in Essence Magazine.

Here's a recap of the beautiful red carpet looks.
